Slow, slow, quick, quick

Ken and I have been taking ballroom dance lessons every Thursday for the last month. Surprisingly, he was the one that signed us up. I have to say, I was resistant to the idea. I love to dance but I just didn't have the desire to take lessons. I'm so glad he insisted we do it. We are having a great time. Needing new shoes and dresses was just a bonus! The pattern is Vogue 1086 by Tracy Reese. This was a test run of the pattern. I'll need to make some adjustments to the next one. Raise the neckline for one...wowee...it is super low! I have it pinned in the photo below and will tack it before I wear it out. Plus, I think it runs on the large side. I'll need to take it down at least one size, possibly two. The fabric was from Joann's and was on sale for 40% off. The total for this dress was about $16 in supplies. Not too shabby. I think I'll wear it with a sweater tonight to Dance. We're learning single time swing tonight.

You two are so cool! I think it is wonderful that you have a standing date and that together you are learning new moves... and looking good stepping out in your beautiful dress!
