Dancin' with a lampshade...

Okay, so I didn't get that crazy but it was close. We had a wonderful time. Food was excellent, the singer had a voice like Nora Jones and it was an open bar. What more can you want??? Oh, and I received many compliments on my dress. Here I am in my dress (above) Ken caught me off guard so I wasn't smiling. Here are pics of my hair, which I loved my hair. I am even considering getting a middy cut so I can wear my hair in true 40's style. I won't go so far as to have a perm though. Last night was the first time I tried wearing Spanx pantyhose and if you don't have a pair, run out and get some! Oh my goodness are they terrific! Not to be too graphic but they are designed so you don't have to take off your hose every time you need to use the restroom. Fabulous :-)

I didn't get any good photos of the party because it was dark. It was gorgeous and festive though.

On a sad note. We came home and D9 discovered her tortoise had died. She was inconsolable. Poor kid. The ground is frozen so we can't bury him. She decided she wants to let him go in Nonni's river. We've never seen her so upset. I think Ken was close to throwing up he was so hurt for her. So if you could lift Abi Rose in prayers of comfort I would appreciate it greatly.

Oh. This is such a life post: the good and the terribly sad. I'm praying for Abi, and I hope she can find some comfort. Will you please tell her I share in her sadness... he must have been a really special tortoise.
You my dear look gorgeous and I am so glad you got to enjoy a night out. Love your hair! I should take notes... 1. put on a beautiful dress 2. take care of hair 3. find these magical Spanx

Your dress turned out absolutely gorgeous. Great job, even with all the frustration it caused you. And your hair is stunning.

I looked at the middy cut. I had that haircut for about 4 months. I was my friend's "model" when she took the state licensing exam. The first day she was to take it, it was cancelled due to snow. I had to keep the haircut all through the holidays that year, lol. I felt like I couldn't do a thing with it.

So sorry about the turtle. It is so sad to lose a beloved pet. Have you read the Rainbow Bridge poem? It has helped our kids.

You're just gorgeous!!! I'm so glad you and Ken had a fabulous grown up night out. So sorry to hear of Abi's tortoise, losing a cherished pet is so hard especially on the littles who love them so!

Dear Abi Rose, Your little tortoise taught you something about love and caring. Your little friend will do well, being given to the river.

Missy, you are blessed to have such a loving youngster.

But look at YOU, momma! Red ahead! When in doubt, RED! RED she said. And the hair? Some kind of raven-haired silver screen heroine YOU are. Do do that do you do, shoo-be-doo...
